An update on the Good Return microloan program

You might notice there are no borrowers featured on our microloan website - this is due to our recent decision to close our microloan program. We are proud to have been at the forefront of microfinance - seen by our founder Guy Winship as a crucial way to fight poverty and boost opportunity. We were the first organisation in Australia to link lenders with borrowers via an online platform, and together we have provided over 11,000 entrepreneurs across the Asia Pacific with loans. 

In recent years we have found our local financial partners and their clients have different needs and we have responded by evolving our program to better meet those needs. Our innovative impact investment fund has surpassed expectations, and we will now focus on growing this fund which will provide small and medium sized loans to women-led businesses. Combined with our growing financial capability initiatives, we know we are on track to empower people with the tools to access and manage their money and improve their lives. 

What if I still have a positive balance in my Good Return loan account?

We invite you to donate this balance into our Impact Investment Fund, so we can continue to ensure women building their business can access responsible loans and the tools to manage their money. 

We also understand you might want to withdraw your available balance and we are very happy to process the return funds to you. 

Both of these actions can be done within your loan account.

What if I am still waiting for repayment from a previous loan?

While we are not facilitating new lending, we will continue to manage lender accounts and email you with updates regarding your repayments.

Our impact investment fund is an innovative financial mechanism that facilitates lending to women entrepreneurs in the Asia Pacific. The loans ensure women can build their businesses and livelihoods and ultimately, stronger futures. By donating to Good Return, you can support this work and ensure the Fund reaches more women.
